About Duffield Rackets and Fitness

The Duffield tennis and squash clubs have a long and distinguished history and have played a leading role in the provision of their sports in the area. The tennis club was originally founded in 1882 and the first squash court added in 1937. The two clubs merged in 2024 and subsequently changed the name to Duffield Rackets and Fitness to better reflect the developing fitness and gym offering at the club. We have some of the finest facilities in Derbyshire, including:

Floodlit Tennis and Pickleball courts
Squash Courts, Gym and changing rooms
Clubhouse, bar and lounge

Facilities

Our standards

We are a designated Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC), run by a team of volunteers elected by members as the Club Council. We comply with all the requirements of our sporting governing bodies, namely the Lawn Tennis Association, England Squash and UK Pickleball. In particular, we:

Have a fair and transparent governance process and operating structure
Have adopted and follow the policies and requirements of our governing bodies, particularly with respect to safeguarding young people and vulnerable adults
Deliver a comprehensive coaching programme for all ages and abilities
Have a clear set of vision and values
